Access Scheme

Bradford Theatres' Access Scheme recognises that some customers need additional assistance to access the services within our venues. Bradford Theatres and Bradford Council are committed to ensuring all customers can participate and enjoy Bradford Theatres events equally.

As a member of our Access Scheme, you will be entitled to a free Essential Companion ticket. You will also be eligible to receive access to best position seats for our Access performances, including wheelchair spaces, and can nominate individuals to book on your behalf. Groups and organisations of disabled people, or organisations supporting disabled people, can also obtain a reduction in ticket price through the Scheme.

An Essential Companion is required to be available at all times to assist the Access Member during their visit. We recommend that an Essential Companion be 14 years of age or above, in line with our guidance on admitting unaccompanied children into the auditorium. Essential Companions will need to familiarise themselves with the Bradford Theatres venue to be visited and the location of services and facilities contained within it. It will be important to speak to a member of our Front of House team if any Access Member has complex needs and to receive advice about our evacuation procedures.

To join the Access Scheme, applicants will be required to provide evidence of eligibility. We accept the following:

  • Access/CredAbility Card
  • Attendance/Carers Allowance
  • Blue Badge Holder
  • CEA Card
  • Disabled Persons Travel Permit/Companion Pass
  • Personal Independence Payment (PIP)
  • Registered Blind
  • Medical letter

If your application is successful, the Membership is added to your Customer Record on our system and bookings can be made online, by calling the Box Office or by visiting one of our Box Office counters. If you require more than one Essential Companion ticket, or are booking on behalf of a group or organisation, you will need to call the Box Office directly as these cannot be booked online. Members will be contacted with Booking Guidance which advises how to get your discount, how to book the appropriate seats online, and safety and best seat guidance for each of our venues. Membership is free and does not need to be renewed.

If your application is declined you can ask for the decision to be reviewed. In exceptional circumstances we will consult with specialist Council staff who work with us on Accessibility related matters.

To apply for the Scheme, please fill out the online form below. You can also download application forms and email or post them to us via the buttons below, or to request a paper application form or large-print version please call the Box Office on 01274 432000.
