Pinocchio

Pantomime will be making a magical return to the Alhambra Theatre this festive season with the spectacular new panto adventure, Pinocchio.

Comedy sensation and Bradford panto legend Billy Pearce leads the cast as toymaker Geppetto, with his prize creation Pinocchio transforming from the famous puppet to a real boy, whose nose grows every time he tells a lie. Joining Billy is Coronation Street star Chris Gascoyne who will take on the role of the evil Stromboli, and Drag Superstar, Singer and Television Personality Courtney Act as the Blue Faerie.

Joining Billy, Chris and Courtney will be panto veteran Steve Arnott as Dame Rita Rigatoni and performer Ewan Goddard, as the titular role Pinocchio. West Yorkshire local Sarah Pearson makes a welcome return to Bradford, she will be joined by Leeds-born Monique Ashe-Palmer, with the Yorkshire performers taking on the evil duo of the Fox and Cat. West-End performer Nicholas McLean completes the line up, appearing as Jiminy Cricket.

Featuring stunning sets and costumes, fantastic special effects and plenty of laugh-out-loud comedy, the 2024 Alhambra Theatre panto is guaranteed to be a spectacle!

"...No panto does it quite like the Alhambra panto." Telegraph and Argus on Cinderella 2023/24

“Packed with energy, colour and flair, the panto has it all, from costumes and settings which are a feast of colour to slick song and dance chorus numbers and a live orchestra.”

Relaxed Performances - Tuesday 7 January 2025

To make the pantomime performance as accessible as possible we are delighted to offer two relaxed performances of Pinocchio at 1pm and 6pm on Tuesday 7 January 2025.

A relaxed performance is a show that's been adapted to suit people who might require a more relaxed environment when going to the theatre. Usually these are adults or children with learning difficulties, autism or sensory communication disorders. Relaxed performances provide the exact same production that a typical audience would enjoy, but with an atmosphere and attitude in the auditorium which makes everyone feel safe and comfortable.

At a relaxed performance you are free to:

  • Come and go from the auditorium as you wish, even during the show
  • Express yourself as loudly as you like, or with physical movement, without judgement

You may also notice:

  • Altered sound and lighting to reduce sensory overload
  • Chill-out areas for people to enjoy before, during or after the show
  • These performances are BSL interpreted
  • Have access to a Visual Story to familiarise yourself with the theatre and show before your visit

Tickets are £14.25 - to book, call the Box Office on 01274 432000.
